Le Pen Presses Sarkozy Ahead of Runoff

PARIS—French National Front leader Marine Le Pen on Thursday said her strong showing in the first round of the country's presidential elections wasn't "an outcry" or a "crisis vote," calling on the two remaining candidates in the race to stop insulting her supporters.

Ms. Le Pen, who captured nearly 18% of the vote on Sunday, has emerged as a pivotal force in the second round, as President Nicolas Sarkozy and Socialist candidate François Hollande brace for a runoff on May 6.
